Tricoci University of Beauty Culture Grand Opening Tricoci University of Beauty Culture celebrated the opening of its first Indiana campus on July 12. The new location becomes Tricoci’s ninth beauty school location. Tricoci University acquired Honors Beauty College, a highlyesteemed Indiana beauty school for more than two decades. Although Honors founder John Halal has retired from the role of beauty school owner, he remains a consultant with Tricoci and continues to play an active role in beauty industry initiatives. John joined Tricoci founder and beauty legend Mario Tricoci and Tricoci CEO Brian Weed in celebrating the rebranded school with a special reception for central Indiana spas and salons. Merrell University 2012 Annual Fashion Show Merrell University, a Pivot Point Member School, in Jefferson City, MO, held its annual Fashion Show on June 1. The entire student body participated in the competition. The students were in groups of five and had the task of creating a unique look for their model. A panel of judges, consisting of graduate students, scored the students on overall appearance, creativity, symmetry, use of hair color, smoothness of hair, contouring of makeup, overall makeup application, and a collage that was created by each group to go along with the inspiration of the entire look. Stephen Moody Joins P&G Salon Professional Stephen Moody, one of the world’s foremost educators of professional hairdressers, has joined P&G Salon Professional as P&G Salon Professional Global Education Academy Dean. In this newly created role, Moody will develop protocols for educator training and standards, working globally and in conjunction with P&G North America Salon Professional Creative and Technical Director Fabio Sementilli and North America Education Director Carole Protat. Leading beauty educator Ivan Zoot joined Marianna as its new director of Education Sales. Avalon Fantasy Hair Show On Saturday, June 16, Avalon School of Cosmetology hosted its eighth annual Fantasy Hair Show to benefit the Arizona Coalition Against Domestic Violence. All proceeds were donated to help in the fight against domestic violence. Avalon donated over $6,400 to the cause. It was a great show to support a great cause! Marianna Industries announced that leading beauty educator Ivan Zoot is joining Marianna as its New Director of Education Sales. Zoot has a long career in the business as a respected educator and beauty professional. “We are very excited to have Ivan join our team at Marianna.
