2012 Session Review
In 2012, each caucus and the Governor’s Office brought forth unique ideas on how to help the economy recover; bidder preference legislation from the Senate Democrats, enterprise zone reform led by the House Democrats, de-regulation proposals by Republicans from both chambers, and funds for OEDIT’s economic development commission spearheaded by the Governor’s Office. Due to the nature of the split legislature, the majority of this

Members worked across the aisle to pass bills that would positively affect Colorado’s business community and jobs climate. The General Assembly passed a fiscally sound Colorado budget with near unanimous support for two consecutive years. Both measures were aimed at creating efficiencies in the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. HB121119, known as the SUCCESS ACT, limits the discretion of CDPHE to impose a fine or minor violation of state law or agency rule. CCA’s lobbyists spent a lot of time and resources to work with all stakeholders to pass the legislation. CCA’s Executive Director Tony Milo hailed it
