ERA Hosts Hong Kong Seminar

For many of you in the direct response industry, April signals the time for international travel to Asia for the Hong Kong Houseware Fair, April 20-23, 2012. This year, I’m excited to announce that ERA has formed a partnership with the Hong Kong Trade & Development Corporation (HKTDC), which produces this well-attended industry conference. On April 20, we will present the ERA Hong Kong Seminar at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Center in conjunction with the annual trade show. As part of our agreement with HKTDC, all registered attendees of the ERA event will be considered VIP attendees of the Houseware Fair. So, if you have never attended this conference, I highly recommend taking advantage of this amazing opportunity. The Hong Kong Houseware Fair 2012 will mark its 27th year, which is the largest of its kind in Asia. According to show organizers, more than 2,000 exhibitors from 33 countries and regions participated in 2011, which attracted more than 24,000 buyers from 131 countries and regions. Attendees will have a chance to walk the expansive show floor with vendors and suppliers showcasing various houseware products – such as handicrafts, hardwares, DIY, home decorations, kitchenware and much more. The ERA Hong Kong Seminar is the perfect way to kick off the week and to reintroduce our Asia event to new and longstanding members. We heard you loud and clear when you asked the association to bring back this important event. In recent years, we have gradually re-established

our presence in the region by hosting an annual networking reception. However, we realized both our domestic and international members wanted more from us. Thus, this year’s event will feature high-powered networking complemented by a full day of educational programming. Special guest speakers and panel presentations will focus on the following: • Best practices for achieving direct response success in China; • A closer look at real solutions for solving the counterfeiting problem; and • Brand management and takedown procedures from top online platforms within the region. This one-day seminar is designed to provide you, the attendee, with international business opportunities that will ultimately help enhance your success in the diverse Chinese marketplace. Most importantly, we’ll put you face-to-face with the experts who will share insight on IP protection, combating counterfeit activity and safeguarding your brand. Although advocacy will be a key topic of discussion, the Hong Kong event aspires to connect people who are successful in this region with those who want to do business in Asia and form those valuable business partnerships. It’s also about appreciating what it takes to be profitable in a competitive marketplace and being open to expanding your business beyond your own backyard.
