Mercury Media became the first agency to provide clients with direct response national cable sponsorships, create quarterly media package deals across numerous networks and provide clients with guaranteed media results against their marketing objectives. The Sweet 16 Awards are one set of several awards bestowed annually by CableFAX, an organization dedicated to keeping those involved in the cable up to date about each other and the issues facing the industry.

Jeanne Bice, Host of QVC’s ‘Quaker Factory,’ Dies at 71
WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Jeanne Bice, creator of t he QVC ’s Quacker Factory, a clothing line known for its colorful and embellished sweaters that Bice often sold while wearing her trademark headbands, died June 10 at the age of 71. Bice started the clothing line and first appeared on the home shopping channel in 1995. She wrote a memoir, titled “Pull Yourself Up By Your Bra Straps and Other Quacker Wisdom,” in 2005. “She loved what she did – creating Quacker Factory clothes, with ‘sparkle and shine.’ Clothes that made people Happy,” read an obituary on the Quacker Factory website. It continued: “She loved QVC. Everything about it. She loved the people: the executives who ran it, and the production people who worked so hard to make every show perfect. She loved the famous stars who appeared there, and had to pinch herself when others considered her one.” – Sarah Sain

Mercury Media’s Cheryl Green Named to CableFAX’s Sweet 16 – Again
SANTA MONICA, Calif. – Last month, Cheryl Green got to experience her Sweet 16 all over again – the award, that is.
