Increase Profits with Customer-Friendly Return Policies
What is your campaign’s attitude towards returns? How has that attitude evolved over time? It may be time to reassess how you view and deal with returns. Today’s marketplace is full of evolving concepts and options for returns. Obviously, a return in itself is not viewed as a positive for any marketer. Marketers want sales, revenue and positive gain. Unfortunately, for most campaigns, returns are inevitable. Given this, the question is how can the marketer create a positive outcome or, at the very least, limit the downside of a return? Simultaneously, how can the return process be a positive experience for the buyer? There are several strategies for handling returns. One option is to discourage returns by making the process difficult for the consumer. By creating a cumbersome process littered with confusing requirements, conditions and hurdles for the consumer, some marketers succeed in curbing returns. But are they really succeeding? Sure, they may avoid or reduce the number of returns. But it may be costing them in many other ways, including negative PR, customer service costs and bank chargebacks.
