San Francisco, Calif. As the technology arm of this venture, Delivery Agent will process multichannel transactions via its web, mobile and interactive television platforms. Delivery Agent specializes in shoppingenabled programming and content monetization, providing services to more than 40 media partners including CBS, NBC Universal, Discovery Communications and HBO, to name a few. Mike Fitzsimmons, CEO of Delivery Agent, says, “It’s an incredibly exciting opportunity to revolutionize a category of commerce that we believe was in need of an injection of new technology. Direct response is a massive category, and there’s an immense amount of transactions that take place based upon television-based retailing. This move into the infomercial category is just a natural extension for us, and Kevin Harrington and TVGoods are a natural partner to do that with.”

AsSeenOnTV.com will feature “Video Deals of the Day,” which are threeminute live-to-tape spots highlighting special limited time offers. Harrington says his team is currently working on campaigns with celebrities such as rapper 50 Cent and former wrestler Hulk Hogan.

itV and Mobile take Home Shopping to New Heights

Interactive Television (iTV) will play a key role in the AsSeenOnTV.com overall business strategy by employing a click-to-buy model, whereby television viewers can shop using their television remote controls and set-top boxes. This also will enable Harrington to develop relationships with the major broadcast and cable networks. Take for example, the CBS comedy “Two and a Half Men.” Let’s say new star Ashton Kutcher is wearing a sweater that you like. “You’re going

to be able to buy that same sweater on AsSeenOnTV.com,” Harrington explains. Customers won’t need to walk over to a computer to make the transaction, nor will they have to pick up the phone to place an order. TVGoods and Delivery Agent intend to up the ante even further by incorporating mobile commerce capabilities. According to Fitzsimmons, there are two pieces to the m-commerce plan. First, Delivery Agent is developing an advanced mobile storefront optimized for both the iPhone and the Android operating environments. Second, “we’re deploying a technology with TVGoods that enables you to use your mobile device to identify a product in an infomercial based on the audio fingerprint of that product and then directly purchase that item from the mobile storefront,” he notes. Harrington explains that customers can simply hold their phone up to the
