Once again, ERA employed a crowd-sourcing strategy, where the staff, Education Committee, the membership and the industry voted on the 12 sessions they wanted to see presented in September. For those hoping to attend the Premier General Session on Wednesday, Sept. 14, look for change in format this year. Instead of having a keynote speaker, the session will be a panel discussion with four of the industry’s leading experts in direct response marketing, media, online and interactive television. The focus of this fireside chat will be “The Future of Television.” Back again in 2011 is the InventHelpINPEX New Product Showcase. ERA and InventHelp have re-teamed to present this very popular event that enables attendees to see some new and innovative products that are not yet on the market. “It’s so exciting to see these aspiring inventors present a two-minute pitch about their products to top retailers, along with a panel of expert judges who will choose the Top 5 products,” Coons says. “One of the highlights of the competition is the ‘The Pitch by the Pros,’ where professional pitchmen will face off by pitching the Top 5 products from the New Product Showcase.” Back by popular demand is the bonus session Direct Response 101. It is truly a perfect primer for new attendees who want to learn the fundamentals of direct response marketing. This year’s panelists are specialists in every segment of this industry including media, production, product development, fulfillment, distribution and teleservices. Another must-see exhibit is the Women in Business Pavilion, which recognizes the extraordinary achievements and contributions of women in the direct response industry. “Lastly, you cannot miss The Moxie Awards,” Coons urges. “This is ERA’s opportunity to honor the best and the brightest marketing campaigns of the year.
