While young adults get a lot of buzz as being a desirable demographic for marketers, baby boomers are a fairly tech-savvy group that demands the attention of DRTV marketers as well. A recent Perion study found that 80 percent of American baby boomers are moving to tablets, as long as the technology is better than what they already have. When you combine baby boomer tablet stats from Monetate with the rest of the population, we see that: • Tablet traffic has increased 348 percent YoY • Website visits from PCs has decreased by 5 percent, down to 88 percent The basic takeaway for DRTV marketers is that consumers are responding to infomercials and shortforms on PCs, tablets and even smartphones. Laptops and tablets are in their laps as they watch TV, and their phones are constantly in their grips as well. The key lesson is that websites need to be optimized for all size screens.
