The Empixx Awards honor excellence in the production of moving pixels within five divisions: TV Commercials, TV Programs, Corporate Videos, Internet Moving Pixels, and Independent Films & Videos. Entries are judged on a standard of excellence, not against each other. Entries scoring 9.0 or higher on a 10-point scale qualify for the Platinum EMPixx award. Those scoring 7.0 to 8.9 qualify for the Gold EMPixx Award. Of the more than 1,100 total entries sent into the EMPixx Awards, 168 pieces were selected for the Platinum Award, the highest level, and 206 were named as Gold Award winners. Creative Bube Tube, a top advertising agency and commercial production company based out of Milton, Ontario, received three Platinum awards and two Gold awards. Hawthorne Direct, a fullservice direct response agency specializing in high-performance selling and branding through the integration of digital video screens, took home two Platinum awards.
