IN THENews MILESTONES PEOPLE Past NAA Chairman and FAA Presdent David Watkins has joined Michaelson Real Estate Group, LLC as a Principal. Dave has more than 40 years of expertise in property David Watkins management, serving as president of several large real estate management and development companies. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a licensed Real Estate Broker in Florida, Georgia, and Alabama, and he holds the Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor (CAPS) designation from the National Apartment Association. During his career, he has had management responsibilities for over 50,000 apartment homes, two million square feet of office and retail space, 12 hotels/motels, and many other types of real estate including mini-storage facilities, golf courses, and marinas. In 2000, Dave joined Greystar in their Tampa office and grew the Tampa operations from two properties to more than 24 properties. Chairman of the Board of NAA in 2007, Dave currently serves on the Board of Directors for the BAAA, FAA, and NAA. In 2006, he was the first person ever to be elected to the FAA Hall of Fame. Michaelson Real Estate Group has opened an office in Tampa, Florida and also has an office in Jacksonville. Brenda Gallagher, President of Horizon Realty Management, received the designation of Certified Property Manager (CPM) from the Institute of Real Estate Brenda Gallagher Management (IREM) of the National Association of Realtors. The designation is considered to be among the industry’s premier real estate management credentials. Candidates are trained to analyze a property’s physical and fiscal performance, implement policies and procedures to enhance short and longterm property values, and to learn how to market, retain and improve tenant, resident and employee relations. In addition, Horizon’s Beth Carozza and Kim Hyatt earned professional designations. Beth, a Regional Manager with 20 years of experience, received her Real Estate Sales Associate Beth Carozza License from the Department of Business and Professional Regulation. Kim, the Regional Training manager Kim Hyatt for Horizon, received her Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) Designation from the National Apartment Association. DLG Management Services, owned and operated in Tampa since 2005 by Diane G. Lee, has a fully operational multifamily division and is working with clients aggressively Diane G. Lee on Condo conversions being converted back to rentals. After four years of management focusing on Condo Associations and Homeowner Associations, Diane and her staff are refocusing on what they love to do best: apartments! Currently, DLG manages five properties in leaseup and renovation from Downtown Tampa to USF. With 27-plus years in the Central Florida multifamily management business, DLG can offer a multitude of experience for both Association Management and Multifamily Housing.
