O Association News Honouring Alberta’s Best 2011 Celebrating Excellence Awards he Human Resources Institute of Alberta (HRIA) honoured the recipients of the fifth annual Celebrating Excellence Awards in Edmonton on April 27th as part of the 2011 Alberta HR Conference. The awards recognize outstanding HR professionals in Alberta who are committed to the pursuit of excellence and continue to make contributions to the HR community across the province. For 2011, one new category was added for a total of four awards. And the winners are: T Rising Star Award: Alexis MacDonald, CHRP HR Manager at UNIGLOBE Travel Award of Excellence: Adam Czarnecki, CHRP HR Manager, Great West Kenworth Distinguished Career Award: No candidate Fellow CHRP: Brian Foster, CHRP Vice President, Advancement & IT, Operation Eyesight Universal Fellow CHRP: Mel Zimmerman, CHRP Vice-President Search, Toombs Inc. The Fellow CHRP (FCHRP) recognizes the most exceptional recipients of the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation in Canada who have made outstanding contributions to the HR profession and their communities. This is the first time HRIA has awarded the FCHRP. In 2010, we welcomed a record number of 418 new CHRPs in Alberta. Congratulations again to all of this year’s nominees and new CHRPs for this achievement of excellence in HR!
