Goldberg IIE Prize for Peace in the Middle East The Institute of International Education awards the Victor J. Goldberg IIE Prize for Peace in the Middle East annually to recognize outstanding work being conducted jointly by two individuals, one Arab and one Israeli, working together to advance the cause of peace in the Middle East. The two individuals whose work is judged to be most successful in bringing people together and breaking down the barriers of hatred share a $10,000 prize, and are recognized at an awards ceremony in Israel. The Prize has been endowed through a contribution from IIE’s Executive Committee member and former vice chairman, Victor J. Goldberg. The winners of the 2009 Goldberg IIE Prize will be announced in Spring 2009. Get a Passport: Study Abroad The Institute of International Education (IIE) has launched the Get a Passport: Study Abroad campaign to encourage all college and university students to get a passport and to use their passports to study abroad. IIE invites all colleges and universities to become Partner Campuses in this campaign by making three easy commitments: 1) Put the Get a Passport: Study Abroad logo on your website and link to our campaign page, 2) Complete 3 activities encouraging students to get a passport and study abroad, and 3) Update IIE on your cam paign activities so that we can highlight them in our newsletter, magazine and on our website. All Partner Campuses will be listed on our website, and outstanding initiatives will be recognized at IIE’s 5th annual Best Practices Conference in 2010.
