The first flight was February 19, 1982, with certification on December 21, 1982. Eastern Airlines 1 began operations January 1, 1983, and British Airways began on February 9, 1983. The B757 Rolls-Royce RB211-535C was Boeing’s first non-U.S. engine. Pratt & Whitney’s PW 2037 engine was certified in October 1984 with Delta Airlines commencing service in November. The B757-200 fleet consists of 380 PW powered aircraft and 533 RR power. Winglets are available for the 757-200F with a list price of $975,000. Benefits include; fuel savings of 2-4 percent, which confers 200+ nm increase in max range, or 10,730 lbs. payload increase. Wingspan is increased by 9' 9" on the -200 and -200F. Freight Version The first delivery was to UPS, September 17, 1987. Eighty aircraft were delivered with UPS adding 55 additional orders and taking the last -200PF on August 12, 1999. Engines are split 45 percent PW and 55 percent RR. The maximum gross takeoff weight of the standard -200F is 250,000 pounds with an option for 255,000 pounds. Current Market With 80-plus aircraft parked, the only ready buyers are part-out companies offering $5-$6 million for early build examples. Distress debt buyers are noticeably absent because they believe prices have yet to reach bottom. Current lease rates are in the $145,000-$165,000 per month range for early ‘90s build and $180,000-$210,000-plus-or-minus for late‘90s/early 2000 build aircraft. Basic Specs Max.
