A320 Family
A continuous investment in success

In 2011 alone, 24 new operators were added to the A320 Family. Airbus is already expecting more A320 Family operators in 2012.

Visionary at its launch, the A320 Family has beneﬁted from continuous product development and enhancements, maintaining its superior efﬁciency. This has resulted in well over 8,000 orders from 240 customers, with the 5,000th delivered in early 2012. Built at production lines in Toulouse, Hamburg, Tianjin, and in service with 275 operators, the A320 Family is the most globally liquid asset in its category. At the end of 2011, the backlog stood at more than 3,300 aircraft, and continuing strong demand has pushed Airbus to increase the production rate from 38 to 42 per month at the end of 2012. Every year, the A320 Family attracts more customers and operators through new deliveries as well as transactions in the active used market. In 2011 alone, 24 new operators were added to the A320 Family. Airbus is already expecting more A320 Family operators in 2012. The A320 Family consists of four members: the A318, A319, A320 and A321. More than 80 percent of operators have two or more

members. The four models are equally spaced in terms of seat count, allowing operators to best match capacity and frequency for the most efﬁcient operations across the whole 125-200 seat sector.

Maximizing Market Appeal Through Continuous Development
The A320 Family started its life as the most technologically advanced aircraft in the single-aisle sector, incorporating state-ofthe-art design features such as ﬂy-by-wire (FBW), and the Multi-Function Display System (MFDS). The digital architecture has allowed the systems to evolve over time, incorporating the latest operator requirements through software upgrades. Since entry into service, the A320 Family has received continuous developments to keep its place as a visionary aircraft. Importantly, these ongoing improvements also add value to the ﬂeet, which is especially appealing for operators, ﬂeet asset managers and
