Details from Dubrovnik Highlights from ISTAT’s 16th European Conference Approximately 415 ISTAT members, including lessors, manufacturers, airlines and many others divisions of the industry, once again gathered in Europe—this year in Dubrovnik, Croatia—for three days of education, networking and fun at the ISTAT European Conference, which concluded just as this issue was being finalized. Be sure to look for more developed coverage in the January/February issue of Jetrader. In addition to the in-depth education sessions, the conference affords innumerable networking opportunities, as evidenced by the deal brokered between Aeronautical Engineers, Inc. (AEI), and MNG Airlines for AEI to provide MNG with one B737-400SF passenger-to-freighter conversion. This deal was just one of many that were negotiated during the conference. Attendees crowded into the Valamar Lacroma’s lobby for a conferenceopening reception to catch up with old friends and make new connections, as well. ISTAT President John Vitale delivers his conference-opening remarks.
