AGG1 Forum and Expo Will Open Space Sales at CONEXPOCON/AGG 2011 by Rick Feltes, Lafarge Chairman, AGG1 Management Committee W hile it seems that AGG1 in 2012 is in the far-off future, activities have already started for exhibit and event planning. AGG1 2012 will be held in Charlotte, N.C., March 13-15, and will again be co-located with the World of Asphalt. The event is not held during CONEXPO-CON/AGG years, but it will offer an opportunity for suppliers and vendors to reach aggregates industry professionals in 2012 and 2013. While economic strains have forced companies to be more selective in their spending, AGG1 has been, and will be, the one place where suppliers can remind aggregates managers that they are still working to provide equipment and solutions for the industry. AGG1 2010 was held in Cincinnati, and the combined show drew a record crowd in a severely “repressed” economy. It is hoped – and expected – that by the time the event is held in 2012 the economy will be in recovery and aggregate producers will be looking for information to help them in their renewed growth. Space sales for AGG1 2012 will launch at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2011, with a space draw to be held in the AEM booth on Friday and Saturday of the show. Those companies that exhibited in 2010 will be scheduled to select their AGG1 booth space based on their priority number (calculated using years of NSSGA membership and 2010 show exhibit space size). New exhibitors are encouraged to visit the AGG1 booth onsite at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2011 (in the aggregates area next to the NSSGA booth) to complete a space application and schedule an appointment to select their booth space. After the space draw, exhibitors will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. SAVE THE DATE: AGG1 2012 will again co-locate with the World of Asphalt Show & Conference. Dates for the show are March 13-15, 2012. ■ 32 Stone, Sand & Gravel Review, November/December 2010
