After a period of time, Anthony needed a service operation, so Gornall and his future wife started a new service company in 1980. Because Gornall had moved from tile and coping work to building complete pools for Anthony, it was an easy step for him to add pool construction to the new firm’s offerings. Relying strictly on word-of-mouth advertising, Gornall built three to four pools his first year in business. Since that time, the company has grown to 45-50 high-end residential and commercial THE EDGE 19 BUILDER The builder of the project is Ramapo Valley Pool Service, Inc., Oakland, New Jersey, an Aquatech builder, which is owned and operated by Doug Gornall and wife, Patricia.
