Dallas

In April, the chapter hosted its private Next and Now
event, featuring a panel of industry experts speaking
on things students need to know as they launch their
careers. Students were also able to take part in a
mock interview process. In June, the chapter held its
2014 Scholarship Dinner featuring local community
leader Catherine Cuellar as the keynote speaker.

In April, the chapter gathered to discuss responsible materials and
furnishings sourcing, during the Secrets to Sustainability event, which
included a distinguished panel of industry leaders that walked the
audience through the process of design, procurement, reporting, and

communication as well as a tour of the Hotel at Arundel Preserve, a
LEED Silver certified property. In June, the scholarship committee selected the following
students to receive $20,000 in scholarships this fall: Mindy Adams, Aimee Dizon, and
Jenae Clawson, George Washington University; Zahra Keihani, Montgomery College;
Tonisha Patterson, Morgan State University; Mary Temple, Marymount University; and
Lionel Olfus, Stratford University. The chapter also donated $5,000 to the NEWH Clifford R.
Tuttle Scholarship fund to honor its past chapter president, industry leader, and friend.
