Paying It Forward
NEWH, Inc. is launching a mentorship program, "intended to further
our mission of education and leadership and offer a real experiential
benefit to our membership, particularly young graduates, but also for
those looking for career change or growth, or industry knowledge,"
explains past president Julia Marks, adding that the timing is right
for such a program. "Over the course of my involvement with NEWH, I
always felt that a mentorship program was missing and it became a
goal to set it in motion."
Marks, along with mentoring team leader Sandy Banks, say the
goal is to start slowly with two to three test chapters, and apply
lessons learned and successes as the program evolves. Soon there
will be an application process for qualified mentors, but until then,
those interested in participating in the pilot program should email
Julia or Sandy: Julia@dossee.com or sandy@sandybanks.com.
Says Banks, "Its inception is a natural progression and bridge
to the growth of our industry and transition to our younger
professionals-it's been in discussion for a few years. As with any
new initiative, there is a bit of trial by error and new ideas will come
forward as we implement the program."

Each year, the NEWH chapter boards select up to three TOP ID hospitality firms, considering both the quality of the firm's work as
well as its membership and support given to the chapter. This exclusive recognition is NEWH's way of supporting and promoting its
