Chapter Highlights
Sunshine

The chapter had another successful end of the year event
called Inspiration Through the Arts at the Orlando Museum

of Art on December 7th. Members and guests had the
opportunity to display their artistic talents and some amazing
pieces of artwork were sold. All proceeds benefitted the
chapter's mission of education and scholarship. Additionally,
the chapter held its "Passing of the Gavel," welcoming president
elect Cindy Andrews into office along with her new board, and
bidding farewell to Marissa Colli and a few others.

The chapter recently held a membership drive at Citrus
Restaurant, reaching out to new community members and

welcoming back valued members. Speakers included Thomas
J. Hutchinson, III, CEO of CNL Hotels & Resorts Inc., and Trisha Poole, NEWH, Inc. president, and
president and founder of Design Poole.

With several upcoming events, the chapter is staying very busy: its major fundraiser this year is
Disco Bowling on June 26th from 6-8 p.m. at Kings Bowling in Orlando. Contact Erin West at
erin.west@karndean.com for further information. The chapter will hold a sustainability event on
October 8th from 6-8 p.m. at the Courtyard East End Market, featuring appetizers, drinks, and a
tour of the facility. For any students looking to get involved, the chapter has its Magical FF&E Bus

Vancouver Regional Group

The group has capped off a successful 2013 year with events
that are becoming the "can't miss" networking opportunities.
New additions to the board include James Adamson, Eden
Textiles; Jennifer Kurtz, Starbucks; and interior designer Lorin
Bordeville.
At its fall event, held at Forage Restaurant, the group welcomed
its first scholarship winner Mojgan Issaei an intern at B+H CHIL
Design, who received a $2,000 scholarship. The event featured
presentations by Dean Collingridge, Evoke International Design,
and Matthew Presidente, restaurant manager of Forage.

The group's first event of 2014, a sundowner at the Blackbird,
drew more than 100 people. The restaurant, designed by
Ste. Marie, draws visions of a vintage Midtown Manhattan
pub scene complete with billiards, a scotch bar, and darts
providing Donnelly Group with a new and upscale location
to its repertoire of pubs. Food graced a long table allowing a
meeting place for everyone to congregate and get caught up
while other guests mingled near the bar or cozied privately
in the large booths. This event could not have been possible

sponsor Westport Mfg.
