awards at HI Connect for its barlounge vignette: Most Interesting
Use of Lighting, Sweetest Surface
(Caesarstone US), Best Use
of Technology (Legrand), Best
Lighting (2nd Ave Lighting), and
Best Public Space Product (Elkay).
Director of design operations
Laura Thompson received IHG's
Immersion Certification, and the
firm moved into a 5,000-squarefoot studio in Dyer, Indiana.
P/Kaufmann Contract hired
Phil Clementi as national sales
manager and Janet L. Hyde as
sales representative covering the
Atlanta and Southeastern territory.

At Valley Forge Fabrics, Amber
Gapinski was promoted from
marketing manager to director
of marketing and Vanesa Patino
joined the executive team as vice
president of operations.

Hospitality Resources & Design
revealed a new booth at the
ARDA World conference, and was
a finalist in the Interior Design
Refurbishment category. Leslie
Funk joined the company as
associate designer.

Nat Coalson has created custom artwork for two more hotels in the UK:
a large piece featuring Coalson's abstract photography in the lobby
lounge at the Best Western Long Eaton, and four black and white nature
photographs for the dining room of the St James Hotel in Nottingham.

Gensler designer Melissa Pyell
won first place in the BDwest Pillow
Art Challenge benefiting Invincible
Me, a charity dedicated to
fostering the talents of women who
are victims of domestic abuse.  

SICIS has purchased a
50,000-square-foot industrial
building in the Bronx, New York
as the logistical epicenter of
the company's North American
operations, as well as a fivestory townhouse in Manhattan's
NoMad area. The SICIS Art Factory
TownHouse will be a think tank
location for the brand, curating
collections of jewelry, mosaics,
furniture, lighting, and accessories,
and it will play host to changing
experiential art pieces.

Lighting manufacturer Cerno
teamed up with SFJones Architects
to design custom pendants for Del
Frisco's Grille in Irvine, California.

Architecture and design firm
Arcsine welcomed intermediate
designer, Britney Gamble.

Dallas-based custom
manufacturer Storgio Ventura
recently worked on the Sheraton in
McKinney, Texas; Admiral Semmes
in Mobile, Alabama; La Cantera
Resort in San Antonio; and the
Hilton Sandestin Beach in Florida.
CP Contract Furniture is now
representing Grand Rapids Chair
Company, covering New England.

Móz Designs launched a new
dynamic website showcasing
product lines, projects, and Quick
Ship program, coinciding with the
company's 25-year anniversary.

Multiple members of JCJ
Architecture's leadership team
earned provisional accreditation
through the International WELL
Building Institute (IWBI), making
it one of the first architecture
firms in the nation to have such
professionals on staff. The firm
launched its WELL-Environment
Strategies Team, focused on
implementing the WELL Building
Standard, the first protocol to focus
on occupants' health and wellness
in the built environment.

Studio Rendering recently
launched its incubator lab, SEED,
born out of a growing demand for
creative services in senior living,
residential, and student housing.
The company also hired Zaib Ali as
executive assistant.

C2 Limited opened a studio
in Williamsburg, Virginia, and
has been honored as the 2014
Interior Design Firm of the Year
- Private Club Industry by the
BoardRoom magazine for the
second consecutive year. Cocreative director Craig J. Smith
was nominated for the American
Society of Interior Designers
Designer of Distinction Award for
the second consecutive year. The
firm also redesigned the Georgian
dining room and Georgian lounge
(pictured) at Georgia's Sea Island
resort, and is working on the
refresh of the property's spa.
Jennifer Lipset has been promoted
to studio design associate, while
senior studio design associate
Diana Jonason recently welcomed
a baby girl, Ella Marie.
