HD Expo

HD Expo welcomed nearly 12,000 attendees
to this year's record show, held in Las Vegas
at Mandalay Bay from May 3-5. The annual
preeminent industry event featured a packed
show floor with more than 850 exhibitors and
roughly 30 conference sessions that focused
on top-of-mind trends and developments.

Highlights included the keynote address
from industry legends Steve Wynn and Roger

Thomas, a standing-room only event; the HD/ISHP Owners'
Roundtable event, where 35 hotel executives shared their
insights with a sold-out crowd; and the opening session, CEO
Talks, with the heads of Dream Hotel Group, Viceroy Hotels,
Ace Hotel Group, and Auberge Hotels and Resorts.  
NEWH, a longtime partner with HD Expo, had an active
role at the show, awarding scholarship winners at its
Sustainable Hospitality Design Competition, the Harvey

Nudelman Scholarship Awards, and the NEWH Annual HD
Expo Breakfast. In addition, Green Voice Conversations were
hosted at the HD Social Hub on the show floor, designed by Rockwell Group, where sustainable
experts tackled issues in informal one-on-one conversations. Save the date for the 2018 HD Expo,8

Boutique Design West (BDwest),
the West Coast trade fair and
conference for hospitality design
professionals from Boutique
Design magazine, drew more
than 2,300 attendees from 39
states and eight countries to the
Los Angeles Convention Center
on April 5-6. The fair featured
more than 40,000 square feet of
inventive furniture, lighting, floor
coverings, fabrics, wallcoverings,
bath and spa, art, accessories
and other design elements for
hospitality spaces.
