Among the challenges that Johanson and her team faced with the property's tents was the fact that they aren't climate controlled-making material choices especially important in addressing (and withstanding) summer's humidity and heat and winter's frigid temps. Upon entering their canvas-wrapped retreat, guests are greeted by a luxuriously appointed bed featuring an upholstered headboard embossed with the Terramor topography lines and a pattern representing the star-filled night sky. Rustic touches include the sculptural tree-log side tables and blackened iron sconces. Other accent pieces, including the bespoke closet and a custom console table, are loosely influenced by campaign furniture. In the baths, dual vanities are positioned so that their mirrors allow glimpses of the outdoor vegetation through the gap in between. "Guests choose Terramor because they want to immerse themselves in an outdoor experience with all the comforts and amenities of a luxury resort," Johanson adds. "So we tried to curate subtle reminders of the natural setting throughout our design selections." 70 newh.orghttp://www.newh.org
