word, while also finding laughter through this crazy
experience. Madison is an integrative nutrition health

If cancer has touched your life in some way, whether
it be your own personal battle, or that of a loved one
or friend, you know that the road of cancer is a long
one. If you are in this club that none of us asked
to join, you probably know that people love to call
fighting cancer a " journey " ...but as a member of this
club, you also know the real truth... that this so-called
" journey " of cancer really doesn't end. Our lives are
forever changed in many ways... some negative, but
some positive, too. Join Lisa Orr as she talks about
REAL topics around living with a cancer diagnosis as
a young adult. Through discussions and interviews
with inspiring people, let her help you see the light
and beauty in life after a cancer diagnosis. Follow the
podcast on Instagram @dontcallitajourneypodcast for
more information about upcoming episodes! You can

Life on Pause - tinyurl.com/xhnb9mwk
Life On Pause is a podcast for and by young adults
living with cancer. Each month, young adult cancer
patients from Penn State Health share honestly about
their cancer diagnosis, treatment and life afterwards.
As cancer causes the group to reflect on issues both
large and small, surprisingly relatable stories and
themes emerge. From relationships to body functions,
nothing is off the table.
Negative Space - thenegativespace.life
Inspired by the art concept of negative space,
defined as the space around and between a subject,
Allison Breininger's site is dedicated to shining
light on caregivers who are often unseen and
underappreciated, but are essential components of
the patients' well-being. At thenegativespace.life
she writes honestly and openly about the realities of
caregiving and by doing so creates a safe community
for caregivers to feel seen, heard and appreciated.
SELF-ADVOCACY
Abridge - abridge.com
Why leave all the details behind when you leave the
doctor's office, or settle for a printed visit summary
that only tells half the story? With the Abridge app,
you record your health care as it happened, so you
can take your doctor's advice home with you. The
app pulls out medically relevant concepts from the
appointments so it's easy to go back and review
the information or share with your loved ones. We
recommend it as a tool everyone should use to help
manage their care.
SUPPORT GROUPS
b-present Foundation - b-present.org/
No young adult should have to face cancer alone.
The b-present Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit
founded in memory of 20 year old Kirsten, who lost
her battle with leukemia in 2016. b-present is focused
on improving the experience of young adults with
cancer by providing the tools and information that
empower the social support network to be present.
Our b-aware program improves young adult empathy
pre-diagnosis, and b-connected ensures friends
have the needed resources to stay connected during
treatment and beyond.
Bright Spot Network -
www.brightspotnetwork.org/
Bright Spot Network provides young cancer
survivors who are parents of small children with
a safe space for individual and familial healing,
recovery, and reconnection.
Cactus Cancer Society - cactuscancer.org/
The Cactus Cancer Society is the first and only virtual
community built by, and for young adults facing cancer
that provides age-appropriate support programs
and resources focused on coping through creative
expression and connection - all in the pursuit of
making survivorship support available and accessible
to those who need it, no matter who they are or where
they are.
Cancer Dudes - cancerdudes.org
Our mission is empowering men to thrive after cancer.
With a scarcity of resources geared specifically to
men's unique needs, Cancer Dudes was created to
provide education and resources in order for men to
successfully move past their cancer experience.
The Cassie Hines Shoes Cancer
Foundation - cassiehinesshoescancer.org/
Our mission at The Cassie Hines Shoes Cancer
Foundation is to guide young adults managing a
cancer diagnosis to social support programs and
services that can help them manage their mental
healing as well as their physical battle.
