A Message from Board Chair, Gretchen Brown Thank You for NHPCO 2010 Board of Directors Executive Committee As I begin my second year as NHPCO board chair, I can’t help but reﬂect on many of the challenges we have tackled together over the past 12 months. Yet, it’s not the challenges that stand out most prominently in my mind, but the opportunity to work with a membership and professional community that shares a common goal of improving care at the end of life. NHPCO continues to be at the forefront of professional leadership, legislative advocacy, regulatory affairs, research, and consumer and caregiver services. Our work together and our many accomplishments would not be possible without the support of you, our members, who represent the broad range of hospice and palliative care providers and professionals from across the county. Yes, the challenges are great—but the opportunities are many. From my view as board chair, I continue to be impressed by our collective ability to meet those issues head on and continue to advance our shared mission. I would like to thank every NHPCO member and I look forward to the future we will chart together.
