Uninterrupted Workflow product focuS A new workspace system by OFS seamlessly breaks down barriers 1 2 Swiss architect Daniel Korb designed Eleven Work Space (1) with the same eye for detail as he would a building. Believing that furniture is architecture on a different scale, he reconsidered the bulkiness of typical workspace systems. Korb's solution is minimal and streamlined to be sure, but it’s also seamless—not a single fastener is visible. Yet, it can be installed using only an Allen wrench. “The name Eleven came about because it represents the composition of the table frame—one leg, one extrusion,” Korb explains. “The leg is the connector, and the frame’s profile becomes the basis for every connection in Eleven’s system.” Made from extruded aluminum, the legs can be spaced up to 10 feet apart, preserving valuable real estate beneath work surfaces for integrated or free-standing storage. With glass dividers (2) between workstations, lines of communications are kept open. However, technology is more tightly 64 3 tethered: Eleven incorporates a rail system with optional wire management, cleanly routing cables under the tables. Boxes (3) added to the ends serve as additional storage and provide tall surfaces to stand next to and hold informal meetings. The series also includes an expanded conference table lineup ranging from 6 to 20 feet in standard lengths. “When you walk into a room that inspires you, you don’t say, ‘Hey, I want to work at that desk,’ ” Korb says. “Instead, you say, ‘I want to work here.’ ” Eleven will be on display at OFS in space 1132 during NeoCon®. —Murrye Bernard reader Service No. 221 may 2013
