News in Brief Enter the Interiors Awards by September 24 The deadline for Contract’s 35th Annual Interiors Awards is September 24th. The awards program names winners in 15 categories. Winning projects and their designers will be recognized in the January/February issue of Contract and at the Interiors Awards Breakfast on Designer Charles Pollock Dies at 83 Furniture designer Charles Pollock (right, top) died in a fire at his Queens, January 24 in New York. CEOs and presidents ($186,900), managing principals ($178,400), and directors of design ($146,000) experienced the biggest gains, and compensation for senior design and project management staff averaged $94,900 in 2011 and $99,400 in 2013. The survey also revealed that 77 percent of firms offer salary increases upon licensure, voluntary staff turnover rates reached 5.6 percent in 2012, and employees averaged 27 days of paid time off.
