Swatch founder Nicholas G. Hayek’s belief that “watches are jewels” as the core objective as the planning phase got under way. “This became the primary layout theme for the store. Our goal was to seamlessly blend interior architecture with product display themes,” he points out. “We wanted to create for Mr. Hayek a one-of-a-kind gallery setting, like nothing that had been done before for any of his Swatch stores.” The flowing curves of a glass-and-Corian counter greet visitors at the front entry, leading them to the
