Now that we have all had some time to relax and rejuvenate over the holidays, I am excited to talk to you about the things we are working on for HD Expo this year. Each year we work hard to bring new and interesting aspects to our show to improve your experience and maximize your time away from the ofﬁce. This year is no exception. Our sixth annual Radical Innovation in Hospitality Competition is upping the ante. Vern Yip from the TV shows Design Star and Deserving Design (and many others) will emcee the event. Vern has a wonderful talent for decorating homes and restaurants all over the country; he is as excited to join us as we are to have him! Make sure you don’t miss out on this popular free session when you register. By attending, you get to vote for the winning projects and also network with the judges and winners after the session while enjoying complimentary cocktails. The full HD Expo conference program is now available online (see some of the highlights on page 36), and we have many sessions to keep you up to date on all the latest industry trends, including our brand new “green conversations” with industry experts, and our annual HD/ ISHP Town Hall/Owners Roundtable where you can meet face-to-face with owners, developers, and brand executives for an open discussion. Our feature areas on the show ﬂoor are coming together nicely. The brand new Innovation Pavilion will amaze you with cutting-edge products, and our second annual Art Gallery will be beautiful in both design and artwork. As always, our exhibitors are working hard to create their wonderful displays, and they look forward to welcoming you to the biggest industry event of the year. I hope you enjoy this month’s issue. It is always terriﬁc for me to see new projects and products as well as the friendly faces in the “People” section.
