The metal end caps can be quickly adjusted, providing the ability to precisely regulate the application of emulsion to thicknesses up to 3⁄16 of an inch, according to the company. The end cap configuration also reduces emulsion streaks that occur at both sides of a coated screen. Use Info•Action #352 at STRONG SCOOP COATER The Vastex Registration System (VRS) from Vastex International Inc. is a pin registration system that enables printers to register screens off-press instead of on-press. To use the system, printers simply attach positives to setup sheets in register using a pin board. Then, attach positives to screens in register using the pin board screen stops and burn all screens on any exposure unit in register. Corresponding screen stops on a “pallet jig” enable press operators to locate screens onto any rear clamp press with all colors in register in one to three minutes per screen, according to the company.
