AWARDS Luggage: Size By Alex Palmer (and Style) Matters Last month, several airlines announced that they would be implementing new charges for checking bags, including US Airways’ adding a $5 surcharge to its fee for customers paying to check bags at the airport (rather than online) and Delta Air Lines’ plan to bring its second-bag fee to international travelers. Alaska Airlines said they would also be implementing a firstchecked-bag fee (see chart on page 66).
