NEWH - November 2004 - (Page 5)

outgoing editor… lisa haude As the end of the year is quickly approaching, one starts to reflect on what an amazing year we have had. The first eight to nine months of 2004 produced some of the best months the industry has encountered in a very long time. New hotel construction and renovation is booming, existing hotels are seeing increased RevPAR and higher ADR, and occupancy has definitely improved across the board. In addition, many design firms and industry related manufacturers have seen tremendous growth as well. NEWH too has undergone many exciting new changes and growth. One change that you will see immediately is with our very own magazine. I proudly introduce our new Editor in Chief for the magazine – Joanie Neumayer with Neumayer Associates. Joining Joanie, Nancy Bohnett with International Woodwork Corporation will be assisting as Associate Editor. Many readers will note that Joanie and Nancy have been active contributors to the magazine, but they will now be taking over the role that I have held for two years. Joanie brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the magazine and has many exciting new things planned to continue to grow and expand what has already begun. In addition, Nancy will continue to pursue new and exciting articles for your reading enjoyment. While I leave my post as Editorial Director with great sadness, I know that I am turning the magazine over to an amazing group of people. So sit back and enjoy this issue and think what an amazing year we have to look forward to. Photos courtesy of Paradigm Design Group Lisa A. Haude Editorial Advisor Paradigm Design Group 5
