More than 500 people attended NEWH Las Vegas’ 4th annual Hospitality (HOSPY) Awards for Excellence in the Hospitality Industry on November 3, in the Latour Ballroom at Wynn Las Vegas. Elizabeth Blau, Blau & Associates was the 2007 HOSPY Award recipient, while KTNV-TV 13 News Anchor Tricia Kean and Meteorologist Bryan Scofield were the Masters of Ceremonies. The event honored 13 winners—selected by jurors Stacy Shoemaker Rauen, senior managing editor, Hospitality Design magazine; Paul Heretakis, principal and vice president, WESTAR Architecture & Design; and AnneMarie Marano, senior editor, Boutique Design magazine—as well as the competition’s Best of Show, Social House restaurant at Treasure Island (TI) by New York City design firm AvroKO and MGM Mirage Design Group. During the ceremony, NEWH’s inagural Recognition of Excellence Award was given to Jillian Van Dresser, the Jillian Van Dresser Company, and Russ Walvoord, Fabricut.
