No matter what the style or where, hotels will undoubtedly continue to deploy the classics for their comfort, utility, and sophistication. But hospitality seating is about more than statement chairs. While still prevalent, and some might argue is even making a comeback (particularly in luxury and boutique properties), it’s still the sofas, lounge chairs, task chairs, stackable banquet seating, dining chairs, and the like that are the lifeblood of hospitality seating. What’s changed about the way they look? Not a whole lot (save a yellow trend here, a polyvinyl trend there, an upholstery texture trend now and again). What is changing is how and when people are using seating as it becomes increasingly important for those prim perches to be also practical—particularly for the guest who’s perpetually plugged in.
