In February, Brandi Markiewicz, Wolf-Gordon sales rep for Northern Florida, gave birth to a baby boy, Jack Edward Markiewicz. The Brilliance Awards is Denver’s rst annual awards ceremony for Architectural Lighting Design, a joint effort of the Denver/Rocky Mountain section of the IES, the Denver Designer’s Lighting Forum (DLF), and the local IALD representation. Awards of honor and merit will be given in four different categories: Exterior/Landscape, Small Commercial, Large Commercial, and Residential. A night of entertainment, dinner, dancing, and Denver’s best in lighting design, this event will take place June 1st at the Curtis Hotel in downtown Denver. Laura Klinkose has been promoted to vice president of the Carroll Adams Group, which provides FF&E and OS&E procurement for the hospitality industry worldwide. Recent awarded projects for the company include: Marriott Harbour Pont in Hilton Head, South Carolina; the Doubletree Pittsburgh; and the Westin Eastland Park in Portland, Oregon, among others. 6 www.newh.org Valerie Coleman was promoted to senior interior designer within the Marriott Architecture & Construction Division, Full Service Design Team for the Americas. Houston-based studioDW designed the HI Connect Design's Wellness Suite vignette. Inspired by the word “renew,” the firm’s design incorporated sustainable finishes and organic products in a holistic approach to wellness. DesignOverStock.com, created by Julia Marks, NEWH, Inc. president, officially launched at HD Expo in May. Desso Carpet appointed Jaime Ross as the Midwest sales and design manager. EoA, Inc.’s Malcolm Berg is completing three boutique hotels in Miami Beach, which will be launched this summer, and is currently working on an IHG resort in Puerto Rico, as well as a large resort in Argentina, among others. Susan Jansen was recently hired as the new sales account manager for the Philadelphia and South Jersey areas by Surface Materials, a distributor of interior finish products. Valley Forge Fabrics has implemented UPS’ carbon neutral shipping program. In an effort to continuously reduce its effect on the environment, the company partnered with UPS to lower its carbon dioxide (C02) impact while further demonstrating its commitment to a healthier planet.
