A sold-out Rock-N-Bowl event at Midtown Bowl in June, was part community service drive—the chapter collected more than 200 bears for Bears on Patrol, a national community outreach program where teddy bears are collected and distributed to police precincts and fire departments to help distract small children during calls where they are involved. 1. The evening included speeches from 2012 scholarship recipient, Jessica Elliott, and Ted Carroll of the Carroll Adams Group. The 2013 scholarship recipients include: Leanza Altenderfer of the University of Central Florida, Vanessa Heidersberger of the University of Florida, Lisa Wilson of International Academy of Design and Technology: Tampa, and Chaise Bishop of Florida State University. The chapter also put on SHINE, a competitive collaboration of creative design professionals and industry vendors where local interior design firms provided the inspiration and design fashion school students from IADT fabricated the designs. 1.
