and depraved kind of hallucination. It presents itself as fiction, but as my relationship with LA deepens I'm seeing just how real the impossible coincidences and

AMONG THE THUGS BY BILL BUFORD
An older book that came onto my radar recently as part of my newfound interest
in the beautiful game (soccer). Buford offers an insider's perspective to the often
harrowing events perpetrated by fans, or supporters, of some of the most famed
English football clubs. The book goes well beyond football, painting a vivid
landscape of the sociological forces at work in one of England's most alternative
cultures at the time. I recommend it for sports fans, culture enthusiasts and
sociology junkies alike.
