3 DAYS IN Philadelphia The “City of Brotherly Love” has many identities, from its historic one as the nation’s first capital and Benjamin Franklin’s favorite stomping grounds, to its role as a major center for the pharmaceutical and medical industries, to its claim as a cheesesteak capital and sports fan heaven. Whatever your pleasure, Philly excels. DAY 2 HOME RUN 10:00 AM Take a behind-the-scenes look at Lincoln Financial Field, home of the Philadelphia Eagles, on one of the Philadelphia CVB’s new “experiential tours” available for groups. DAY 1 AMERICA’S BIRTHPLACE 3:00 PM Motivate with a GPS-guided treasure hunt around Fairmont Park and an inspirational message from one of Philly’s greatest sports legends, Vince Papale, perhaps? 9:00 AM Rise and shine for a walking tour of “America’s most historic square mile,” including the Liberty Bell Center, Independence Hall, and Betsy Ross’ house on Elfreth’s Alley. 7:00 PM Unwind and dine at nearby Water Works, a historic landmark recently renovated as a fine-dining restaurant overlooking the Schuylkill River. DAY 3 BRANDYWINE VALLEY 10:00 AM Take a ride out through the beautiful Pennsylvania countryside to Brandywine Valley, the inspiration for painter Andrew Wyeth. Visit the Brandywine River Museum and enjoy lunch at the Terrace Restaurant at Longwood Gardens. 2:00 PM Head to Chaddsford Winery, the state’s largest, for a glass of Chardonnay. 1:00 PM Order up a cheesesteak “wiz wit” at Reading Terminal Market (that’s with Cheez Whiz and onions). 3:00 PM Burn off the calories with a group run up the steps at the Philadelphia Museum of Art—made famous in “Rocky.” 6:00 PM Back to Philadelphia for a sunset dinner cruise on the Delaware River. The Spirit of Philadelphia can accommodate groups of up to 500.
