A new $250-million arena brings in the biggest names in entertainment and sporting events, and plans are also in the works for a $300-million revitalization of the historic riverfront area. DAY 2 IT’S BEEN A LONG TIME COMING 10:00 AM DAY 1 ROCK AROUND THE CLOCK Be inspired at The National Civil Rights Museum, located at the Lorraine Motel, the assassination site of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. 2:00 PM 10:00 AM Learn the history of a musical revolution at the Memphis Rock ’n’ Soul Museum created by the Smithsonian Institution. Visit Soulsville USA, the home of Stax Records, for a teambuilding event. Find your rhythm with the instructors at nearby Stax Music Academy. 9:00 PM A visit to Memphis isn’t complete without a night on Beale Street, packed with shops, live music venues, and entertainment. 1:00 PM Elvis lives! Er, lived, at the 14-acre estate he called Graceland. See the mansion, the jungle room, and the King’s private planes and automobile museum. DAY 3 RIVER CITY 11:00 AM Golfers tee off at TPC Southwind’s par-70, the home of the Stanford St. Jude Championship and designed by Ron Prichard.
