Top 50 E NG I N E E R S ROPER Married, 37 Everett Kenrick Assistant Professor Computer and Information Systems Oakwood College Alabama Bookout Studio & Design Working in the defense contracting industry was lucrative, but something was missing for Everett, who ﬁrst started teaching in 1996. Once bitten, he couldn’t get the academia bug out of his system and decided to leave corporate success behind for a full-time teaching. A man of faith, Everett knows teaching is something he’s called to do. He believes he has a responsibility to oﬀer motivation as a role model for African American students. He’s the college’s supervisor for the Uniﬁed NASA Information Technology Services (UNITeS) program at the Marshall Space Flight Center and helped place dozens of students in the program. Doing Good: Currently on leave to pursue his Ph.D. in engineering management full time, Everett also balances married life, two children and responsibilities as a church elder. Stats: B.S.
