NSBE PROFESSIONALS
ON THE MOVE

NSBE National Advisor
Stephanie G. Adams,
Ph.D., became the
fifth dean of the
Erik Jonsson School
of Engineering and
Computer Science at
the University of Texas
at Dallas in August
2019. She was previously dean of the
Frank Batten College of Engineering &
Technology and professor of engineering management and systems engineering at Old Dominion University. Dr.
Adams earned her Bachelor of Science
in mechanical engineering with honors
from historically Black North Carolina
A&T State University, a Master of
Engineering in systems engineering from
the University of Virginia and a doctorate in interdisciplinary engineering from
Texas A&M University. Elected 2019-20
president of the American Society for
Engineering Education in 2018, she will
complete her one-year term in June. Dr.
Adams, a NSBE lifetime member, is a
strong believer in NSBE's mission and is a
leader in efforts to broaden participation
of women and underrepresented minorities in engineering.

NSBE Lifetime Member William H.
Robinson, Ph.D., has been appointed vice
provost for academic advancement and
executive director of the Provost's Office
for Inclusive Excellence (OIE) at Vanderbilt
University. Dr. Robinson, an electrical and
computer engineer, has served on the
faculty of Vanderbilt since 2003. In his new
post, he will continue leading the university's efforts to build and sustain a culture of
inclusion, belonging and respect in its trans-institutional research
and educational missions. Dr. Robinson, co-editor of a new book,
"Diversifying STEM: Multidisciplinary Perspectives on Race and
Gender," will also continue his work as co-leader of Vanderbilt's
Explorations in Diversifying Engineering Faculty Initiative and
leader of Vanderbilt's Fault Tolerance Research Group. He earned
his Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from Florida A&M
University, an Historically Black Institution, and a Master of Science
in electrical engineering and doctorate in electrical and computer
engineering from Georgia Tech.

Richard Ezike, Ph.D., has joined the Urban
Institute as a senior policy associate managing the
Accelerating Innovation for Inclusion Initiative. This
$1.5-million research program, sponsored by the
Mastercard Center for Inclusive Growth, aspires to
increase awareness and knowledge of the implications of the digital transition for U.S. cities and
seeks to foster opportunities to reduce inequity and
promote upward mobility. Among Dr. Ezike's previous employers are the Union of Concerned Scientists
and the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, where he focused on
transportation equity and accessibility. His other areas of interest include
sustainability, environmental justice and STEM education, among others.
Dr. Ezike is a member of the NSBE Washington, D.C. Professionals Chapter,
which he served as 2017-19 president, and is the current Region II NSBE
Professionals chair-elect. He received his Bachelor of Science in chemical
engineering from North Carolina State University and his Master of Science
and Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of Michigan.

NSBE Lifetime Member Tiffani Teachey
has written an educational children's book
titled "What Can I Be? STEM Careers from
A to Z." The book, available for purchase
at Amazon and Barnes & Noble, includes
colorful illustrations of six diverse children
representing various science, technology,
engineering and math (STEM)-related
careers and was created to help motivate children aged 5 to 8 to shape their
future through STEM. Teachey joined
NSBE in 2001 and has more than 15 years
of experience as an engineer. She has
held numerous leadership positions in
the Society, among them NSBE Charlotte
Professionals Chapter president, Region
II NSBE Professionals chair and National
NSBE Professionals programs chair. She
is a member of the NSBE SC Midlands
Professionals Chapter and is advisor of
two NSBE Jr. chapters: Crown Jewels
(N.C.) Links - Phillip O. Berry Academy of
Technology high school, and Columbia
(S.C.) Links - Westwood High School.
