What is the piece of gear that
you are most hoping to find
at the Snow Show?
Everyone at The North
Face has been pouring their
hearts and souls into the new
Futurelight technology. I've
been riding in it for a while,
and I'm really excited to see
the community's reaction. I
believe it will really change
the game for outerwear. I'll
definitely be stopping by the
Dynafit booth, as their gear
will be crucial on the Russia
trip. And I'm always looking
to improve my fueling (and
snacking) options.

Show and cementing friendships on her way to Russia with a

A sommelier, gourmet chef,
and self-proclaimed "unrepentant bookworm," Hadley
Hammer simply rips. Sponsored by brands including
The North Face and Dynafit,
the Jackson, Wyoming, native
made a name for herself on
the Freeride World Tour. She
elevated her reputation in
Teton Gravity Research and
Sherpas Cinema films, and is
the only woman (and second
skier) to have ever dropped
in on "Corrugated," a famed,
forbidding wall of spines in

the Alaskan backcountry. The
Daily caught up with Hammer,
32, to talk about the Show and
the future.
What big project are you
preparing for now?
My winter is scheduled to have
some pretty amazing trips, but
what I'm most looking forward
to is an expedition I pitched
to The North Face that was
just approved. The project
involves skiing in Russia with
an all-star team consisting of
Hilaree Nelson, Kit DesLauriers,
and Christina Lustenberger. It's
been incredible to look back
and see how my skill set has
developed since the start of my
filming career. I'm really looking
forward to learning more from
everyone on the team, being
in a new place, and, if all goes
well, skiing our intended line.
Why is it important for you
to be at the Outdoor Retailer
Snow Show?
The Show is a place to celebrate the fact that we all get
to work in the outdoor industry and to connect with the
entire outdoor community in
one place. The athlete-brand
relationship is obviously
crucial for a skiing career,
but beyond just being working relationships, they are
also close friendships. The
outdoor community attracts
such passionate people, and
you can really feel that buzz
on the trade show floor. For
me, there's definitely a working component and there
will be lots of meetings, but
I'm also looking forward to
catching up with friends and
colleagues who I see only
once a year.
