Miller will host a hands-on workshop
sharing her knowledge and experience
on dressing plus-size women in style.
Everyone wants to look good in their
clothing and choosing a flattering style
is where that starts. Designing for plus-

size women requires special attention
in style selection, fitting, and grading.
In this workshop, Miller will share the
steps she takes to assure great-fitting garments, while providing
examples of what works and what
doesn't work. In addition, she will
problem-solve fitting and grading
challenges in the workshop.

brands to develop a strategy where
everyone wins. This session will explore: direct-to-consumer trends and
how they impact retail, best practices
for how to approach this new retail
reality, and strategies and tactics for

relationships.

share resources. Please join a daily
meet-up to engage with those working toward the same intention, goals,
and mission.

PUTTING IT OUT THERE

The executive director of OUT There Adventures (outthereadventures.org), Elyse
Rylander worked as a paddling instructor and guide, and always felt lucky to find
communities and support as someone who identifies as LGBTQ+. Recognizing
that this is not true for all members of the queer community, especially teens, she
founded the organization to create a safer space for the healing benefits of time
outside. "Unlike many urban spaces that prize moving in prescribed linear movement and a broader culture that offers limited narratives on what it means to be
queer in the U.S., the natural world reflects queer identity in everyting from the
ways flora and fauna interact to the fact that it is physically impossible to move in
a straight line for long. For a community that is often told it is 'unnatural,' making
these connections is paramount." Rylander will be on the panel Appreciation vs.
Appropriation (Day 1, June 18, 2-3 p.m., Hyatt Regency Denver). -D.S.
