New opportunities for growth emerge from the Queen City’s rich past.
The city of Charlotte emerged from the intersection of two Native American trading paths that became Trade and Tryon streets and is now known as The Square in uptown Charlotte. Through its early days as a strong force in the American Revolution to a small textile mill town, to an emerging manufacturing and distribution hub to a leading financial and energy center, the people of Charlotte have shown they make it possible to create new opportunities while honoring the past. This ambitious spirit of Charlotte has driven tremendous growth and new development in the past 25 years, yet you need not go far to explore Charlotte’s history.
