Window or Aisle? engage Chatting with a Frequent Flyer Monte Durham, host of TLC's Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta, shares his travel (and wedding!) tips and tricks. How did you get started on the show? I got my first degree in fashion merchandising and became a personal shopper. Then I went back to school, studied in London, and earned a hair degree. I worked for a major spa as a hair director and then in their wedding-dress boutique. From there, I began doing wedding shows around the U.S. That's how I met Lori Allen [cohost of the show], and we've been inseparable ever since. How often do you travel? I live in Virginia and commute to Atlanta for the show. And now I'm traveling even more with my hair-care line called M.O.N.T.E. I travel almost weekly. Can you share some tips for traveling brides? DIVIDEND MILES Insider ✈ ADMIRALS CLUB TURNS 75 THIS YEAR The first American Airlines Admirals Club® location opened its doors at New York LaGuardia to provide customers with unmatched service in a comfortable, private environment within the airport. Today, American Airlines offers nearly 60 Admirals Club and US Airways lounge locations in airports worldwide. I have a few favorite spots, but being from West Virginia, one of my absolute favorites is The Greenbrier. It is 10,000 acres in the rolling hills, and the wedding options are limitless. What's left on your travel bucket list? I want to see the Great Wall of China. Who would you want to sit next to on a flight? A Tip from Monte: THIS IS FOR BRIDES: PACK A CHANDELIER EARRING, A SMOKY EYE PENCIL, AND A RED LIPSTICK. WALK DOWN THE AISLE WITH A SIMPLE LOOK, AND THEN AFTER THE CEREMONY, USE THOSE THREE THINGS TO CHANGE YOUR LOOK INSTANTLY. I have to pick two. One is Jackie Kennedy, because I'm a huge fan, and I have to ask her why she didn't wear earrings on her wedding day. The other would be West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin and his wife. They have done great things in the state. Window or aisle? Aisle, because I'm a Southern gentleman, and I don't want to disturb anybody. Members can choose to stay productive, relax with a cocktail, or simply recharge during their trip. Personal assistance with reservations, seat assignments, and boarding passes is always available. And, we're always looking to add more access and more value to Admirals Club membership. It will simply fall into place. If you could plan a destination wedding, where would you go and why? http://www.aa.com/admiralsclub http://www.usairwaysmag.com
