These special tables are serving up a singular experience at some of the country’s top restaurants. ★ Wine & Dine Aria Tuscan Grill & Champagne Lounge The scene: There aren’t any bad seats at this Queen City hot spot, which boasts street-level views of the bustling downtown. But there is a best seat. At this eight-person chef’s table situated between the main dining room and the organized chaos of the kitchen, diners can order off the menu or opt for a personalized tasting menu, both consisting of fresh, seasonal ingredients. The food: Simple, authentic Italian dishes such as the standout house-made potato gnocchi served with prosciutto di Parma, pear, gorgonzola, and truffle oil are given modern twists. The tiramisu and Aria’s own gelatos make dessert a must. About $50 per person for a four- or five-course tasting menu.
