engage Window or Aisle? Chatting with a Frequent Flyer Casey James, an American Idol finalist, is on the road promoting his self-titled debut album. The country crooner travels mostly by bus but is no stranger to flying. How much have you been traveling? Right now, I’m somewhere in the middle of Virginia. We did an acoustic show at the Hard Rock Cafe in Kentucky last night, then got on the bus and started heading down here. I just did the math and in the last forty days, I’ve been home for four of them. What have you been working on? I recently released my first album, and we’ve already had two top-twenty hits with “Crying on a Suitcase” and “Let’s Don’t Call It a Night.” Do you have a favorite airport? Casey’s Travel Tip PACK LIGHT. IT’S THE SIMPLEST, EASIEST, MOST HONEST ANSWER I CAN GIVE. AND ONE TIP THAT COULD SUM UP ALL MY TRAVEL EXPERIENCES IS TO HAVE CONSIDERATION FOR OTHERS. The Milwaukee airport has ping-pong tables. That’s such an awesome idea. The band and I are ping-pong fanatics, so when we saw the tables we weren’t sure if we were still sleeping or what. It’s such a great thing to put in an airport. But make sure you play on the way out, not the way in, so you don’t miss your flight! If you could pack only three things, what would you choose? Where’s your favorite vacation spot? Well, I’m assuming this is for things other than the essentials. So, I’d have to go with my guitar, for sure, and clean socks. I don’t think I really need much else. DIVIDEND MILES Insider GET MORE FROM YOUR MEMBERSHIP WITH SPECIAL DIVIDENDS v I’ve actually never taken a vacation. I’ve been incredibly lucky to be able to see the places I’ve seen and to do the things I’ve done. When I had the time for a vacation, I didn’t have the money, and now that I have the means, I don’t really have the time. And I think it would be hard for me to relax, because I’d be thinking about what I should be doing. It would probably take me a good three days to finally relax and then another three days to get back in the groove of working, so I’d have to take at least nine days to be able to enjoy a vacation. Any destinations on your bucket list? I’ve been able to see most of the continental U.S. But I haven’t been to Hawaii or Alaska, so I wouldn’t mind going there. And I’d really like to get to Australia and Asia. Window or aisle seat? Special Dividends are extra benefits — above and beyond those you enjoy as a Preferred member. On short trips I prefer the aisle so I can get up and out quickly and without disturbing anyone. Are you a US Airways frequent flyer with an interesting story to tell?
