A MESSAGE FROM THE

CHAIRMAN

As my service as Chairman of the Board comes to an end, it is customary to present the members with
an Annual Report. However, it is of considerable signiﬁcance for me to present the 2016/17 Annual
Report because it is a true privilege...
The Report represents tireless efforts of the Park City Chamber/Bureau staff; considerable commitments
from many volunteer business leaders serving on the Board of Trustees, the Executive Committee
and the other volunteers serving on committees to provide guidance on Marketing, Group Sales,
International, Communications/PR and Special Events; signiﬁcant collaboration with the Resorts - Deer
Valley, Park City and Utah Olympic Park; and consistent partnerships with Summit County and Park City
Municipal staff and leadership. Please take a moment to peruse the Report because I trust that you too
might share my pride knowing this report reﬂects unparalleled collaborations and efforts that delivered
unprecedented results, including but not limited to:
* Strong economic results and successes, including record-breaking transient room tax collections
* Impressive marketing results, driven by deliberate ofﬂine and online media strategies executed by
our agency, Riester.
* Continued accolades in leading domestic and internationally renowned publications.
* Explosive group demand, including contracting the largest corporate incentive group ever.
* Stability and consistency of member and visitors information services as we welcome two new
dynamic leaders
* Collaborative success in facilitating the support campaign for the Transportation and Transit Sales Tax
initiatives, which were passed with overwhelming support from the community.
With results summarized above, and comprehensive performance detailed in this Report, it should be
no surprise when I remark it has been a privilege serving among remarkable people that make up the
Park City Chamber/Bureau staff.
I was privileged to have incredible mentorship and guidance of the Past-Chairman, Andrew Garland;
the support of a diversely talented Board of Directors; and without question, it's a privilege to step
aside and welcome an even more capable, dynamic and strong community steward, Sara Werbelow as
the 2017/18 Chairperson.
