Announcing New Vice

T

his spring, President Simcox
announced the creation of a
new Vice President of Institutional
Effectiveness role at the College.
Recognizing the critical need for highlevel and comprehensive assessment
of our core activities and performance
metrics, College leadership appointed
our Vice President of Academic
Affairs, Penni Longenecker, to this new
position.
In her new
role, Penni
will coordinate
and ensure
the accuracy
and maximum
utility of our
current and developing assessment
measures. The goal will be to improve
the College's performance through
thoughtful, intentional, well-designed
assessment that addresses our problemsolving skills, our decision-making,
our teaching, and our academic and
financial performance. "I can think
of no one better qualified throughout
the region to provide leadership for
this area. Penni has a doctorate in
assessment, fully understands our
College and its challenges, and has an
intimate knowledge of the academic
side of the College," remarked
President Simcox.

Penni, an alumna of our Nuclear
Medicine program, began her career
in nuclear medicine and has been with
the College for more than 20 years.
To fill the vacant position of Vice
President of Academic Affairs, College
leadership appointed Jim Siburt, Chair
of General Education, to this role. As
part of his initial work, Jim will lead
efforts to secure strategic partnerships
and as a forward-thinking innovator,
draw on opportunities to grow and
strengthen innovation at PA College.
Additionally, Jim will play a major role
in developing a governance structure
that ensures proper engagement and
alignment with the strategic goals and
vision of the College. Jim began his
career in higher education at Lancaster
Theological Seminary while working
