FACULTY STANDOUTS
To kick off the 2019-2020 academic year, faculty and staff members joined PA College leadership for the College's annual Convocation,
which included a State of the College update from President Dr. Mary Grace Simcox and the presentation of four faculty awards.

Robert M. and Thelma G. Flory
Doctoral Study Award
Two members of the nursing faculty are
the 2019-2020 recipients of this award,
which supports faculty who are pursuing a
doctoral degree or postdoctoral research.
Jenna Davis, MSN, RNC-NIC, who joined
the faculty in June 2018, is pursuing
her doctorate of philosophy in nursing
education through Indiana University of
Pennsylvania.
Mary E. Fetter, RN '97, MSN, a PA College
alumnus and assistant professor, first joined
the faculty in 2009. She is part of the first
cohort of students in PA College's new
Doctor of Nursing Practice program. n

Faculty Excellence Award
Alumna Rebecca Cox-Davenport, RN '96, PhD, an associate professor of
nursing, received this year's award, which recognizes PA College faculty
members who demonstrate leadership, excellence and creativity.
A student who nominated Cox-Davenport for the award wrote,
"She wants to see us not only succeed, but also thrive. She goes
out of her way to connect with her students and let them know
their success is her success. When we do well, she cheers us on.
When we don't, she helps us formulate a plan to improve. I could
not have asked for a better advisor." n
